Benchmarks you can act on, not a trade round-up
- The month's movement Against last month and the same month last year, on a matched panel so the comparison actually holds.
- Region and size splits So a 400 seat house is not measured against a 2,000 seat one, and the North is not measured against the West End.
- Spend per transaction Published with the full spread, not just an average, so you can locate your own venue in it.
- Interval ordering How much of a bill is interval spend, the split between orders taken at the bar and placed in an app, and how many venues take them at all.
- A feature snapshot One operational question answered properly each month, with the method shown.
Monthly, plus a quarterly review that reads the trend rather than the month, and an annual one. Every edition states the panel size and the method, and if a figure is not safe to publish precisely it is published as direction instead of a number.
